Key to change: Tiny Habits

“For example, your motivation for self-improvement vanishes when you’re tired, and your willpower decreases from morning to evening.  In contrast, my research has found that by keeping changes small and expectations low, you can design around fair-weather friends like motivation and willpower.”

For example, if you want to get more physically fit, you can decide to start doing pushups. You might choose brushing your teeth as an anchor moment, and do one pushup afterwards as one tiny behavior. Then you can celebrate by telling yourself “great job.”
